Celebrating Galentines’ Day | My Favorite Woman Owned Businesses

category:

Tomorrow is February 14th, the day filled with love, flowers, chocolate, and all things sweet – but before we get there, we must recognize today, February 13, and celebrate GALentines Day!

Galentines Day was brought to fruition by Leslie Knope of Parks & Rec, and is now an “unofficial” holiday for ladies to celebrate ladies! It’s a time when I reflect on some of the most amazing women in my life who are friends, mentors, confidants – and yes, business owners!

To celebrate this year, I wanted to share some of my favorite (mainly local) woman-owned businesses!

PAINT Nail Bar

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time on Instagram, chances are you’ve seen me at PAINT Nail Bar. PAINT was created because Michele, the owner, saw the need for a luxurious nail experience (that doesn’t break the bank, I might add), and also offers high-quality polishes, a fume-free environment, and incredible sterilization standards. Michele is one of the kindest women you will meet. She always has a smile on her face, asks how you are, and loves helping you pick your polish color.

PAINT not only offers amazing services but often partners with other businesses and boutiques to offer fun pop-up experiences! Michele is transforming the industry through PAINT. I remember going when they first opened, and now there are TEN locations nationwide with more on the way!

Camilyn Beth Studio

There are not enough words that I can share about Camilyn Beth! I’ve shopped with Camilyn Beth since 2013 when I purchased the famous Go-Go dress and I’ve been hooked since!

Not only is Cami the sweetest person on earth, her style is impeccable, and that is translated into her dress designs. I don’t think there’s a CB dress that I haven’t liked! I am always so excited and wait with anticipation to see her next collection (P.S. Her sneak peeks of the F/W 2019 collection are amazing!)

It’s been so neat to watch the growth of CB over the years. Her line is now carried in boutiques nationwide and she has the most beautiful studio right here in Sarasota! If you’re in need of a dress for a special occasion or just to treat yourself, check her out!

Pure Skincare by Elizabeth

If you have been looking for an esthetician, whether as a treat or to start seeing regularly, Elizabeth at Pure Skincare by Elizabeth is your girl. After following each other on Instagram for almost a whole year, I had my first facial with her in January. Not only was it exciting to finally meet her (I immediately felt like we were BFFs!), but my skin had never looked or felt better.

Elizabeth took the time to get to know me, my concerns, and my skincare goals and helped me implement a sustainable skincare routine. One of the best parts? Her products and services are holistic! As soon as you walk into her spa, the cares of your world will slip away and you will have one of the most peaceful experiences of your life. Elizabeth doesn’t just care about your skin though – she really wants you to have full body wellness and educates you on how your body and skin work together, and also about mindfulness and meditation. Honestly, I’m feeling relaxed just thinking and typing about the experience.

Erin O’Dwyer – Nourishing Joy

Erin is a neuro-nutritionist and wellness guide who works with career-driven, creative women. What exactly is neuro-nutrition? Well, the condensed answer to that is that it’s learning to nourish your body with foods that empower and fuel your brain so you can have better mental health, more energy, and the ability to build a successful life. (Check out Erin’s blog post to learn more!)

I’ve been dealing with anxiety and found Erin on Instagram. After following her for a few months, she offered a free masterclass, and then I talked with her about working one-on-one and I’m SO happy that I did. We have been able to work through so much and uncover different concerns, and she has guided me in how to work with them. I’m still a work in progress, but I can tell you that working with Erin has been one of the best decisions I’ve made – personally and professionally.

Ivory Arrow Photography

Where do I even begin with Brittany at Ivory Arrow Photography?! Not only are we great friends, but chances are the photos on my website and social were taken by her!

Brittany is a total sweetheart and loves working with brands and families. I love how bright her photography is – I think it’s a reflection of who she is as a person. I always have the best time when we have a session, and I’m kind of amazed that we get any photos because we have so much fun talking, laughing, and getting coffee during the session! If you’re in the Tampa/St.Pete/Sarasota area, she is your girl!

Tellers

Tellers, owned by Erica McCreadie, is one of the coolest coffee shops around. Its name is derived from their location – they’re in an old bank teller window!

Tellers have great coffee and focus on offering vegan and vegetarian options for food, and tons of great dairy-free options for your drinks! Aside from their main location, you may then pop up in a vintage Airstream trailer throughout town. Erica also hosts great events and partners with other businesses, which is breathing new life into downtown Bradenton. The next time you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and grab a delicious drink or snack!

Amanda Olivia Photography

Amanda is my biz-bestie. In a mastermind last year, we were assigned as each other’s accountability partners, and haven’t been able to shake each other since ;). We quickly became friends and bonded over our mutual love of coffee, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter, and traveling.

We have a weekly scheduled time where we chat to catch up and also to talk about our businesses. It has been amazing to have her as someone who you can bounce ideas off of, proofread copy, vent about being a business owner, and goal-plan with. She isn’t afraid to tell you the truth – even if it’s something you may not want to hear and I am so thankful for that.

Amanda is a scientist, but when she isn’t in the lab, she is a wedding and portrait FILM photographer. That’s right folks, film. And let me tell you, her work is gorgeous. I recently got to see her in action during a wedding weekend in St. Augustine, and I have never seen a photographer who is so passionate, detail-oriented and cares so much about her clients. If you’re engaged, know someone who is getting married, or want portraits, get in touch with Amanda!

Five-O Donut Co

Last, but certainly not least, I want to share Five-O Donut Co.  As you know, I’m a bit donut-obsessed and a self-proclaimed donut snob. Well, that’s pretty much because of Five-O.

Christine is the owner and creator of these delectable creations. She’s building her culinary empire one donut at a time. She recently opened a second location of Five-O, and they are at farmer’s markets across the state weekly. Pro-Tip: Get to the shop early to ensure that you get some of these donuts before they sell out each day!

This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but these are some of my favorite woman-owned businesses. I encourage you to check out each of these ladies’ websites, give them a follow on social media, and if you can, support them with a purchase!

Do you have any favorite woman-owned businesses? Have you shopped with these ladies before? Let me know in the comments!
