5 Tips to Boost Your Pinterest Engagement

  1. Create Multiple Boards Related to Your Brand
Make your Pinterest interesting! If I go to a business Pinterest and there’s only one or two boards and it’s just reposting their website or other seemingly boring material, I won’t stay there long – and neither will your potential customers!Take my Pinterest for example. Do I have the standard boards where I’m pinning my website and Instagram content? Yes. But, I also pin different marketing tips, branding style, color inspiration, and motivational quotes. Have a little something for everybody and organize your boards well (More on that below)!
  2. Organize Your Boards
Now, I’m a type-A individual. I believe there is a place for everything and everything should be in it’s place – and your Pinterest boards aren’t exempt! The most common way to organize your boards is by topic.Be sure that the names of your boards are simple and to the point. This will let users know exactly what to expect from your boards and help them better and more easily find your content! Don’t forget to use appealing cover photos, too!
  3. Repin Valuable Content
Remember when I told you that you have to actually engage with people on Instagram? It’s the same with Pinterest! Don’t be selfish – show some love to other businesses and pinners by repinning their content, especially if it relates to your brand or business! Did you know that 80% of pins are repins?!While we’re on the topic of engaging with others, don’t forget that you can have conversations on Pinterest! Maybe you have a fellow business owner or client who would benefit from or get a laugh over a pin that you found – send it to them! And, if someone repins your content, it never hurts to send a quick thank you message!
  4. Install the PinIt Button
The PinIt button allows users to pin images directly from your website onto their Pinterest boards. This makes their pinning process fast and easy. (Another bonus: they start pinning your content for you!) Once they pin your website or content, their friends and followers will see your content, which will lead to more exposure and opportunities to connect with new people!
  5. Use Pinterest Analytics
Like most other social media platforms out there, Pinterest also offers analytical tracking. By using this, you will be able to see what content your audience likes and wants to see more of.Pinterest Analytics allows you to see what boards have the most impressions, clicks, and repins. If you want better engagement with your followers, you need to have an understanding of what’s working or isn’t working, what their likes/dislikes are, etc.

  1. […] B2B Marketing You may be thinking, “Wait, Alyssa – you just said this was a pro!” Don’t write me off yet. This is both a pro and con. If you are in a “professional” field (i.e. lawyer, realtor, etc), then this is a pro for you. However, if you are a blogger or Etsy shop owner, then your time is likely going to be better spent on a different platform, such as Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest. […]
